Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Key Holder to support store leadership, open/close the store, supervise partners, and deliver outstanding service to customers and pets. This role emphasizes on-floor leadership, problem solving, and creating a safe, welcoming environment while upholding Petco’s standards daily.

You’ll help manage merchandising, inventory, and promotions, ensuring a smooth, high-quality shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience required; key holder or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions.
• Reliable, responsible, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Uphold animal care standards and safety in the store.
• Promote a safe, welcoming environment for pets and people.
• Follow policies related to animal welfare and operations.
• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable service to customers.
• Supervise store partners and maintain morale.
• Assist with training and enforcing best practices on the floor.
• Open and close the store; handle cash and security.
• Support daily store operations and merchandising.
• Manage inventory, restocking, and planograms.
• Identify issues and communicate to leadership.
• Process transactions, refunds, and exchanges accurately.
• Serve as primary contact in absence of management.
• Support promotions and store goals.
