Job summary

El Pollo Loco is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee Crewmembers in the absence of the General Manager, coach and direct staff, and establish priorities during shifts. You will train Crewmembers on policies and food-safety standards, and ensure operations open or close smoothly while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The role emphasizes contributing to cost and profit goals, maintaining high standards, and promoting from within as part of a growth-oriented team.

Qualifications

Experience: EPL Crewmember certified on all EPL SPECS positions or 1+ years of restaurant supervisory experience.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred; pass EPL Food Safety Audit (FSA) class on hire.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (second language a plus).
Competencies: Basic math and computer skills, and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Provides oversight to Crewmembers in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager; coaches, directs, recognizes outstanding behavior, and sets priorities during the shift.
Trains Crewmembers on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety, security, quality and cleanliness standards.
Opening and/or closing the restaurant.
Creates and ensures superior guest experiences.
Helps contribute to the achievement of cost and profit goals.
