The Salad Station is seeking ONE full-time Shift Leader to guide our team and oversee operations. This role requires reliable leadership, strong knife skills, and a background in high-volume food prep. You will report to the Managing Partner and support both restaurant and catering prep with open availability.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of food service experience.
• Excellent knife skills and high-volume prep experience.

Responsibilities

• Guest Services is JOB #1: greet, assist, and ensure a positive exit experience for every guest.
• Catering & Shift Prep: organize, prepare, and execute large catering orders alongside daily prep.
• Run the Shift (AM or PM): open/close leadership, manage lunch rush or evening transitions.
• Set the Pace: direct team with urgency during peak times and delegate tasks.
• Coach & Guide: train new hires and maintain high energy and focus.
• Master Operations: ensure safe food prep, manage transactions, and keep dining areas clean.
• Take Ownership: monitor inventory, portion control, and communicate shift performance to leadership.

Shift Leader (Full-Time) – The Salad Station

The Salad Station is seeking ONE (1) full-time Shift Leader to help guide our team and oversee operations. We are looking for an experienced food service professional with a strong background in high-volume food prep, excellent knife skills, and natural leadership ability. Must have reliable personal transportation and 2+ years of food service experience.

• Reports To: Managing Partner
• Job Type: Full Time (30-39 hours)
• Schedule: OPEN AVAILABILITY REQUIRED (8:00 AM - 9:30 PM, Mon - Sat)
• Must be available to be scheduled for either AM or PM shifts (8:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 2:30 PM - 9:30 PM).

Position Summary

With a positive, outgoing nature and a spirit of joy, the Shift Leader ensures our daily restaurant flow is seamless. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will lead shift transitions, oversee the floor during peak rushes, manage high-volume daily and catering prep, and coach team members to deliver AMAZING guest service. We are looking for someone who sets the standard for the rest of the team, handles responsibility with ease, isn't afraid of hard work, and keeps operations running smoothly from open to close.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations

• Guest Services is JOB #1: Ensure that each guest is greeted & welcomed upon entering, cared for completely during their visit, and leaves with a cheerful good bye. Ensure that the first guest in the morning and the last guest in the evening have the same, unforgettable experience.
• Catering & Shift Prep: Take ownership of organizing, preparing, and executing large catering orders alongside daily restaurant prep to ensure perfect setup and timing.
• Run the Shift (AM or PM): Lead morning opening setup & catering, manage lunch rush, or manage the evening transition, oversee bar & catering prep, and ensure a pristine, efficient close.
• Set the Pace: Direct the team to move with a sense of urgency during peak dining rushes, delegate tasks, and solve minor operational issues on the fly.
• Coach & Guide: Train new hires, answer team questions, and keep employee energy high and focused.
• Master Operations: Ensure fresh ingredients are prepared safely, manage cash/credit transactions, and maintain a spotless dining room and kitchen.
• Take Ownership: Monitor inventory, enforce recipe and portion control, enforce food safety standards, manage cash deposits, and keep the Managing Partner & other shift leaders updated on overall team energy, individual performances, and shift success daily.

Requirements & Skills

• Certification Preferred: Serve Safe or equivalent preferred
• Proven Experience: 2+ years of food service experience with a strong foundation in kitchen and front-of-house operations.
• Top-Tier Prep Skills: Excellent knife skills and the ability to efficiently handle high-volume ingredient prep, including assembly for catering orders.
• Scheduling Flexibility: True open availability between 8:00 AM and 9:30 PM, Monday through Saturday, to cover both morning and evening leadership slots.
• Leadership Traits: Prior experience as a shift lead, trainer, or keyholder is preferred, but we will train someone with the right attitude and a natural problem-solving mindset.
• Brand Champion: Must be kind, considerate, and passionate about helping others succeed while enforcing our "Fresh, Full, Clean, Kind" standards.
• Physical Ability: Able to climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Age: Must be 18 years or older with a cheerful, high-energy attitude.
