Job summary

Sweetgreen is seeking a Shift Leader in Washington, DC to guide daily restaurant operations and lead a high-performing team. You will drive hospitality, food quality, and operational excellence across shifts, coaching teammates to deliver best-in-class service.

You will role-model calm, efficient leadership during high-volume moments and contribute to a positive team culture with a focus on guest satisfaction and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Leadership or supervisory experience in restaurants, retail, or hospitality.
• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
• Experience in fast-paced environments (restaurant/retail/hospitality).
• Strong focus on hospitality, food quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts with a hospitality-first mindset, ensuring guests feel welcomed and heard.
• Manage pace, priorities, and execution to keep service running smoothly.
• Fill in at any station, modeling strong performance and teamwork.
• Coach and support teammates to elevate service and standards.
• Uphold food safety, cleanliness, and organization across shifts.
• Communicate clearly, solve problems quickly, stay calm under pressure during rush moments.
