Job summary

Modern Market Eatery is seeking an experienced Shift Leader to help run daily shifts in a fast-paced, open-kitchen setting. You will ensure guest service standards, supervise team members, and handle opening/closing procedures as the manager in charge.

Ideal candidates bring at least 6 months of shift leadership in a restaurant, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate staff across stations while multi-tasking during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of restaurant shift leader experience required
• Exceptional communication skills
• Food handlers and alcohol service training preferred
• Ability to coordinate work of self and others
• Ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

• Ensure the cleanliness of the restaurant and delegate side work tasks
• Continually monitor our food and food quality
• Properly perform opening and closing procedures as the manager in charge of those shifts
• Run the shift while making sure that all employees are taking their given / mandatory breaks at the appropriate time throughout the day
• Work all stations in the restaurant while recognizing where you are most needed at a given time
• Assist Manager with other duties as needed
