Position Overview:

The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team understands goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, directives, and guest connections during the shift.

DOING – What you deliver:
  1. Demonstrates mastery of the Team Member responsibilities with enthusiasm and excellence.
  2. Leads shifts focused on team engagement and guest satisfaction, emphasizing fun.
  3. Maximizes product sales and manages waste strategically.
  4. Maintains the store’s visual and operational standards (“total store vision”).
  5. Knows the deployment plan for the day and understands associated roles and responsibilities.
  6. Communicates effectively during the shift.
  7. Addresses team and guest needs proactively.
  8. Prioritizes and delegates tasks effectively.
  9. Owns shift responsibilities and prepares for subsequent shifts.
  10. Ensures SOP and quality standards are met consistently.
  11. Provides real-time coaching and feedback to team members.
  12. Trains team on responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotions.
  13. Completes administrative tasks with integrity, including deposits, inventory, and ordering.
  14. Develops team members and discusses career growth opportunities.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience, or proper training and approval by Caribou Coffee.
  • Availability for early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:

Hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for 4-8 hours, with or without accommodations.
