Job summary

Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe in Louisville is seeking a Shift Leader to guide front-of-house and kitchen operations with a focus on guest service and team leadership.

You will open/close, supervise staff in the absence of a manager, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and cash-handling procedures while maintaining fresh, high-quality food standards.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Prior food service experience preferred.
• Must obtain Food Manager's certification shortly after starting.

Responsibilities

• Serving guests and making meaningful connections with them.
• Opening & closing tasks.
• Being responsible for the restaurant and the team when a manager isn't on duty.
• Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear, calm directions to your team about their duties.
• Mastering menu and product knowledge.
• Supporting or working stations when needed (including kitchen).
• Prepping food and doing side work.
• Following proper cash handling and payment procedures.
• Maintaining Health Department Standards throughout each shift.
• Following proper Alcohol Handling policies and procedures.
• Proper food handling and storage of food products.
• Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance.

YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:

Hours will vary by store.

You may work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment, which includes but is not limited to using equipment such as a flattop and char grill, oven, slicer, mixer, and food processor.
