Job Details
  • Reports To: Shift/General Manager and District Manager
  • Compensation: $16.00-$18.50
  • Job Title: Shift Leader
  • Department: Operations Department
  • Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time, Hourly
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  1. Understand all restaurant operation policies and procedures, including responsibilities of Front Crew and Kitchen Crew.
  2. Perform FOH and BOH responsibilities.
  3. Practice safety procedures and comply with health and food safety codes.
  4. Interview, hire, train, manage, and supervise employees.
  5. Ensure compliance with employment laws regarding hiring, firing, discipline, and scheduling.
  6. Schedule meal and rest periods in accordance with legal requirements.
  7. Handle and resolve employee and customer complaints.
  8. Follow cash handling procedures.
  9. Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
  10. Promote marketing promotions and new products.
  11. Operate POS system, handle payments, and serve food.
  12. Perform cashier closing and daily closing procedures.
  13. Maintain cleanliness of the store through daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
  14. Ensure smooth and effective restaurant operations.
  15. Enforce company policies and procedures.
  16. Maintain punctuality and attendance.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of restaurant industry experience.
  • Food Handler Card as required by local health department.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math, excellent communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Email, and basic computer skills.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation.
Working Conditions
  • Hot and noisy kitchen environment.
  • Extremely cold walk-in refrigerated area.
  • Work around kitchen equipment and tools.
Physical Demands
  • Long periods of standing, walking, talking, hearing.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent hand washing and use of cleaning solutions.
  • Repetitive arm, finger, hand, and wrist movements.
  • Reaching high shelves with a stepladder.
  • Squatting, kneeling, and bending to reach objects.
