Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is hiring a Shift Leader for our new Houston, TX location. You will be the captain of our bakery during your shift, owning the night by predicting flow, leading the team in baking, orders, and customer service.

You will supervise operations, train team members, delegate tasks, and ensure safety and quality while managing cash and deposits. This role requires strong communication, reliability, and a friendly, energetic demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
• Experience with Point of Sale systems preferred.
• Excellent communication, time management and people skills.
• Outgoing, friendly and patient demeanor.
• Detail-oriented with results focus.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older to be employed.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and quality products to guests in bakery stores.
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations during shifts and communicating information.
• Delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging and cleaning while leading the crew.
• Collaborate with the Cookie Crew to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and follow safe food handling practices.
• Manage cash handling and deposits.

Insomnia Cookies is one of the fastest growing, late-night, sweet indulgence companies in the country, and at the present time, we are actively interviewing Shift Leaders for our brand new Houston, TX location! This new store opening will be located at 508 W 19th St, Houston, TX 77008! As a Shift Leader with Insomnia Cookies you are the captain of our bakery day or night! You understand what it takes to “Own the Night” (and beyond), by predicting the flow of business during a successful shift. Your hands‑on leadership style should not only include building orders, suggestive selling, baking, and interacting with customers – it will also mean taking pride in knowing that your prowess as a leading Insomniac attributes to a productive and fun night for your store!

WHAT WILL I DO AS A SHIFT LEADER

• Provide incredible customer service and quality products to all of our guests throughout their experience within our bakeries
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations during your shift, communicating pertinent information, monitoring production efficiency, holding the team accountable to company standards and procedures, and assisting in the training and coaching of team members
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the cookie crew team
• Support and work alongside the Cookie Crew
• Provide a safe, clean, working environment for our guests and staff and adhere to safe food handling practices
• Manage cash handling and deposits

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• At least 1 year of working experience in a customer service focused role
• Point of Sale systems experience
• Outstanding communication, time management, and people skills
• Outgoing/friendly/patient demeanor
• Detail focused and results‑oriented
• Ability to lead-by-example and motivate others
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
