Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores, Inc. is seeking a reliable Shift Lead / Head Cashier to oversee daily operations on assigned shifts. You will lead by example, deliver outstanding customer service, mentor teammates, and ensure smooth store flow.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, handling cashier duties, promoting products, maintaining clean facilities, coordinating schedules with management, and coaching staff to meet company standards. This role is ideal for a proactive, flexible leader.

Qualifications

• 24/7 availability required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous supervisory experience in foodservice or retail preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Lead by example and act with integrity.
• Team player who collaborates to get the job done.
• Ability to think fast and adapt to change.
• Must meet legal age to sell regulated products (alcohol, tobacco); NV only for slot machines).

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and thank them for their business.
• Perform cashier duties, including ringing up sales and applying promotions.
• Provide fast, friendly service and promote store products.
• Maintain store cleanliness across sales floor, coolers, pumps, and foodservice areas.
• Stock, rotate, and label shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Manage food service and beverage programs to maximize sales and compliance.
• Check in vendors and communicate as needed.
• Lead completion of key store tasks and support special projects.
• Assist with schedule adjustments and communicate changes to the Store Manager.
• Coach and motivate team members with Store and Assistant Managers.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (alcohol, tobacco, Lotto).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
