Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Leader in Berwyn, IL to run the shift when management isn’t on site and lead by example. You’ll jump into every position and work side-by-side with your team to ensure fast, accurate service and a great guest experience.

You’ll coach and motivate crew members, train new teammates, and uphold brand standards while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen. Leadership in restaurant or hospitality is preferred, with a team-first approach and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• A team-first mindset with strong communication skills
• Someone who leads by doing—not just directing
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
