Job summary

Five Guys is looking for a proactive Shift Leader in Frederick, MD. You will be on-the-floor, leading by example, assisting in every station, and ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. The role combines hands-on leadership with daily operations in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in restaurant or hospitality leadership, strong communication, and comfort with POS systems. Growth into higher leadership roles is encouraged within our team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in restaurant, retail, or hospitality leadership preferred.
• Strong communication skills and team-first mindset.
• Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and run operations in the absence of management.
• Fill in for all roles as needed: cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and ensure a great guest experience every time.
• Coach and motivate crew to perform at their best and train new team members.
• Maintain brand standards, cleanliness, and safety throughout the shift.
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
