Radisson Plaza Hotel Kalamazoo hosts a Starbucks inside its bustling lobby, seeking a Shift Lead to steer floor operations, guide a quick- service team, and model friendly, efficient service during peak times.

You will lead baristas, mentor new associates, and ensure beverage quality, food safety, and cleanliness while coordinating opening, mid-shift, and closing tasks. The role emphasizes proactive problem solving and customer connection.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory, lead, or senior barista experience in a high-volume retail or food service environment preferred.
• Strong communication skills, a positive "team-first" attitude, and the ability to keep calm and decisive under pressure.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving, time management, and task delegation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more)
• Lift up to 40 lbs. safely and work with coffee equipment and sanitizing chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Run smooth, efficient shifts by deploying baristas effectively and managing floor flow during peak rushes.
• Lead and foster a positive team culture, participate in training, mentoring, and onboarding new associates.
• Ensure strict adherence to beverage quality, food safety, health code standards, cleanliness, and store sanitation guidelines.
• Oversee opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures, including cash-handling and register procedures.
