Job summary

Fuel America is seeking a Shift Lead/Lead Barista in Boston. This role leads the café when the General Manager is unavailable, and performs lead duties alongside Crew Member responsibilities. You will ensure readiness for opening, supervise food safety, and promote a friendly, high-quality guest experience.

Prior experience in food service is preferred, with strong communication, math, and reliability. This position is non-exempt and requires flexibility with hours.

Qualifications

• Accurate order entry into POS system.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Punctual and reliable with shifts.
• Ability to upsell and recommend menu items.
• Basic math for cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Open the café and prep for daily operations.
• Ensure food safety standards and proper sanitation.
• Provide outstanding guest service and upsell when appropriate.
• Operate the POS, handle cash, and process transactions.
• Support all café duties and back-of-house tasks.
• Collaborate with team and communicate issues to management.
