Job summary

Universal Instruments is seeking a Lead Assembler to join our production assembly team in New York. You will assemble parts and sub-assemblies, operate production equipment, and assist leadership to keep production running smoothly and efficiently on a shift basis.

You will lead a shift, guide teammates, review process sheets and blueprints, use hand tools, and perform intermediate testing of sub-assemblies to ensure quality. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relative experience.
• Team lead experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with hand tools such as Allen wrenches, torque wrenches, measuring tools, scales, meters, and gauges.
• Notable experience with technical drawings, blueprints and/or schematics.
• Technical aptitude for database navigation, information management and record keeping.
• Reads, writes and communicates effectively via email, documentation and with colleagues.
• Dependable and possesses an excellent work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and monitor the quality of products produced.
• May lead and organize production daily work requirements.
• Assemble parts according to procedures, process sheets or other documentation.
• Utilize hand tools including screwdrivers, torque drivers and assembly aids.
• May perform intermediate to complex testing of sub-assemblies prior to final assembly.
• Serve as the go-to team member for shadowing, insights and problem solving.
• Perform other duties as required.
