Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Leader to lead daily operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will work hands-on with the team, stepping in for management on shift to set the tone and ensure excellent guest experiences.

You will coach crew, train new hires, and maintain brand standards while handling breaks, cash, and closing duties. Growth opportunities exist for aspiring managers in a dynamic, high-energy setting.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• A team-first mindset with strong communications skills
• Someone who leads by doing—not just directing
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
