Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Leader to actively manage daily operations on the floor and support the team across stations from cashier to grill and dining room. You’ll model hands-on leadership, maintain quality and safety standards, and drive guest satisfaction on every shift.

You’ll coach crew members, train new teammates, and help cultivate a positive, fast-paced work environment where accuracy and teamwork matter. This role offers growth into higher leadership and a dynamic kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant/retail/hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• Team-first mindset with strong communication skills
• Leads by doing, not just directing
• Ability to stay cool and make fast-paced decisions
• Basic math skills and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and run operations when management isn’t on site
• Work across roles: cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room
• Deliver fast, accurate service and a great guest experience
• Coach and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
