Job summary

Five Guys in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Shift Leader to guide daily operations and model hands-on leadership on every shift.

You'll lead by example, work side-by-side with your crew, and ensure fast, accurate service that leaves guests impressed. Bring 1–2 years in hospitality and a team-first mindset; strong communication and calm decision-making in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• A team-first mindset with strong communicationskills

• Basic math and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
