Employer: You are employed by Smoothie Sailing LLC. We are an independent franchisee of Smoothie King Franchises, Inc.
Job Purpose
Shift Leads serve as the Team Leader. They help Guests meet their fitness and nutrition goals by assisting them in selecting smoothies and retail products that inspire them to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. They also provide guidance to Team Members when General Managers are not in the store.
Duties and Responsibilities
Composure
- Think on their feet at all times regardless of internal or external pressures.
- Inform the General Manager of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Assist Team Members at the point of sale (POS) with upselling.
Delegation
- Ensure all team members work together to maintain efficient store operations.
- Assist in Team Member management during scheduled shifts.
Drive for Results
- Support and adhere to company standards for operations, marketing/communications, and brand identity.
- Encourage Team Members to exceed goals and complete all checklist tasks.
Ethics and Values
- Handle cash and inventory reporting responsibilities honestly.
- Be trusted with sensitive information from team and management.
- Live and promote the culture, values, vision, and mission of Smoothie King.
- Exemplify operational standards when completing tasks around the store.
Guest Focus
- Be responsible for product and Guest Service experience.
- Ensure Guest needs are met when smoothies are ordered.
- Greet and engage with Guests to provide a friendly experience.
- Demonstrate a “Guest comes first” attitude.
- Blend smoothies according to recipes for consistent taste.
Self-Development
- Be willing to take on new tasks outside of their role.
- Seek feedback from the General Manager.
Time Management
- Show up on time for work.
- Balance personal life without interfering with work schedule.
- Discuss checklist tasks with team members during shifts.
Experience Requirements
- 6 or more months of Guest Service experience in a restaurant or retail environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead by example and direction in a fast-paced environment.
- Tolerate exposure to various products and substances without health risks.
- Follow procedures and dress code requirements.
- Maintain store cleanliness and food safety regulations.
- Operate a blender and POS cashier system.
- Move boxes weighing up to 55 lbs.
- Position self to bend, reach, and scoop during shifts.
- Be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer (40°F to -10°F).
