Job summary

Handel's Ice Cream is seeking a dependable Shift Lead to keep daily operations running smoothly, welcome guests, and support the team in delivering an excellent ice cream experience.

You will lead by example, train new team members, manage cash and POS, and ensure safety and cleanliness while working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service, food service, or retail experience preferred.
• Leadership experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and takes initiative.
• Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must meet applicable age requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support team members during assigned shifts.
• Provide friendly, attentive customer service and ensure every guest has a great experience.
• Prepare and serve ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes, and other menu items according to shop standards.
• Open and/or close the shop, including completing assigned checklists and securing the store.
• Handle cash, operate the POS system, and ensure accurate transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards throughout the shop.
• Monitor product levels and restock supplies as needed.
• Help train new team members and provide guidance during shifts.
• Address customer questions or concerns professionally and promptly.
• Communicate important updates, inventory needs, and shift issues to management.
