Job summary

S and G stores is seeking a Shift Lead to directly support the store manager in Albion Township, Michigan. The role ensures efficient store operation, compliance with laws and policies, and close collaboration with the Store Manager to maximize sales and profits while safeguarding assets.

Key responsibilities include leading customer service, enforcing policies, maintaining clean appearance, handling transactions with integrity, and ensuring accurate merchandising and foodservice rotations.

Qualifications

• Retail experience / customer service experience required.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for full shifts and perform physical tasks (climbing, kneeling, pushing/pulling).
• Able to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service leadership to all customers.
• Acknowledge/greet customers entering the store.
• Ensure that all company policies are followed.
• Maintain a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
• Process cash and card transactions with integrity.
• Implement merchandising and marketing programs, maintain plan-o-gram integrity and sign placement.
• Rotate foodservice products to ensure freshness and remove out-of-date items.
• Monitor store activities to ensure proper transactions.
• Respond promptly to emergencies for safety and security.

Summary

A Shift Lead at S&G serves as direct support of the store manager; ensures that the store operates efficiently and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and Company policies; properly manages employees and works closely with Store Manager to ensure the store maximizes sales and profits while maintaining asset controls

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service leadership to all customers.
• Acknowledge/Greet all customers that come into the store.
• Ensure that all company policies are being followed.
• Promote and maintains a clean and organized store appearance inside and out.
• Efficiently process both cash and card transactions with integrity.
• Ensure all merchandising and marketing programs are implemented properly. Including maintaining plan-o-gram integrity and appropriate sign placement.
• Ensure foodservice products are fresh and appealing by rotating products appropriately and removing out-of-date products.
• Monitor store activities to ensure that transactions are taking place in the proper manner
• Respond quickly to all emergencies for the safety and security of customers and employees and notifying the appropriate individuals.

Requirements

• Retail Experience / Customer Service Experience Required
• Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
• Able to frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds.
• Able to stand for an entire shift.
• Ability to periodically handle routine physical task such as climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Comfortable working in intermittent temperatures for short periods of time. e.g., in the store, outside, and in the cooler.
• Available to work carious shifts and days of the week as required by the retail environment , including weekends, evenings, and busy periods/holidays.
