Job summary

Surly Brewing Co. in Brooklyn Center, MN, is looking for a Shift Brewer to operate our brewhouse and support NA beverage production, barrel aging, and QA activities. You’ll work across shifts, maintain safety, and help ensure quality across all processes.

You will monitor wort quality, manage operations, and contribute to continuous improvements in a fast-paced brewery environment. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety culture and compliance with OSHA expectations.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and OBeer software.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate brewhouse and assist in essential beverage production tasks.
• Manage wort production, yeast handling, dry-hopping, and barrel work.
• Support QA and ensure cleanliness and sanitation in production areas.
• Follow safety protocols and report hazards to management.
• Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and record-keeping.
