Job summary

Hildebrand is seeking a Residential Assistant in Cambridge, MA to help maintain a safe, clean living environment for families in our shelter. You will assist with room setup, monitor daily operations, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

You will collaborate with the Residential/Case Manager on Re-Housing Plan activities to aid families in moving toward independence, including job search, resume support, and housing applications.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Previous experience in Human Services or residential settings preferred.
• Skills: ability to handle confidential information and interact professionally with families.
• License/Certification: CPR/SFA certification within 30 days of hire.
• Languages: bilingual Haitian Creole or Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a clean, harmonious living environment and support safety and well-being of families in residence.
• Ensure each family has a safe, clean, and adequately furnished room.
• Oversee facility cleanliness and order during shifts, with 30-minute checks and chores.
• Monitor rules and policies to ensure regulatory compliance for residents and visitors.
• Assist Residential/Case Manager with Re-Housing Plan activities to move families toward independence.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other required activities.
• Support agency rules and systems to meet goals for residents and the program.
