Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund in Bronx, NY, seeks a Shift/Safety Supervisor to oversee Safety Monitors on duty, ensure safety and civility, and manage incident responses within the Hope House facility. The role collaborates with DHS protocols and agency procedures to protect residents, staff, and visitors.

The position requires supervisory experience in security or law enforcement, valid security licenses, CPR, and a driver’s license, with strong communication and professionalism under pressure.

Qualifications

• Must possess Security license (F80) and CPR certification.
• NYS Driver's license required.
• Two years of Supervisory experience in commercial/residential security or law enforcement, or five years as a Private/Personal Security Officer.
• Must have good communication skills, experience working with women and children.
• Exhibits superior professionalism at all times, even under pressure or whenChallenges with the clients.
• Must successfully complete background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Safety Monitors and ensures all safety and security duties are performed as per agency protocol.
• Responds to incidents and follows DHS and agency protocols in responding to and documenting incidents.
• Reports incidents of Child Abuse to the state Central Registry.
• Interacts with HERO and provides updates on unit vacancies and occupancies; accepts referrals and conducts initial intake of new families upon arrival to the facility.
• Answers facility phone and directs calls.
• Ensures Safety Monitors patrols and monitor the CCTV camera system and report/document observations.
• Trains Safety Monitors in security measures and recommends changes in procedures/equipment to the Manager of Building Operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Conduct daily audit of Safety Monitor's Desk Log and Supervisor's Desk Log for accuracy and content.
• Prepares/conducts Employee Appraisal Evaluations in a timely and thorough manner.
• Prepares and audits Incident/Accident Reports.
• Maintain and schedule vans’ daily usage.
• Oversee and supervise department staff in the utilization of the DHS Client Assistance and Re-housing System (CARES) regarding Intake Check-In, Incident Reports, and Facility Bed Management.
