The Shift/Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the management and supervision of the Safety Monitors on duty on their assigned shift for our Hope House location in Bronx, NY. Monitors all activities to ensure safety in the physical plant and civility amongst clients, visitors and staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- SupervisesSafetyMonitorsandensuresallsafetyandsecuritydutiesareperformed as per agency protocol.
- RespondstoincidentsandfollowsDHSandagencyprotocolsinrespondingtoand documenting incidents.
- ReportsincidentsofChildAbusetothestateCentralRegistry.
- InteractswithHEROandprovidesupdatesonunitvacanciesandoccupancies.Accepts referrals and conducts initial intake ofnew families upon arrival tothefacility.
- EnsuresthatSafetyMonitorsconductpatrolsandaremonitoringtheCCTVcamera system and are reporting and documenting observations.
- AssistsSafetyMonitors inensuringthatclientsfollowshelterruleswhileinthefacility.
- TrainsSafetyMonitorsinsecuritymeasuresandrecommendschangesin procedures/equipment to the Manager of Building Operations.
- Otherdutiesasassigned.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct dailyauditofboth theSafetyMonitor's DeskLog,andtheSupervisor's Desk Log for accuracy and content.
- Prepares/conductsEmployeeAppraisalEvaluationsinatimelyandthoroughmanner.
- CompletesendofshiftreportsandemailsreporttoManagerofOperations, theProgram Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
- CompletesendofshiftreportsandemailsreporttoManagerofOperations, theProgram Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
- Overseeandsupervise department staffintheutilization oftheDHSClient Assistance andRe-housingSystem(CARES)SystemregardingIntakeCheck-In,IncidentReports, and Facility Bed Management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- MustpossessSecuritylicense.
- MustpossessanF80.
- MustpossesscurrentCPRcertification.
- NYS Driver'slicense required.
- Two(2)yearsofSupervisory experienceincommercial/residentialsecurityorlaw enforcement, orFive(5)years' experience asaPrivate/PersonalSecurity Officer.
- Mustgavegoodcommunicationskills,experienceworkingwithwomenandchildren.
- Exhibitsuperiorprofessionalismatalltimes,evenwhenunderpressureorexperiencing challenges with the clients.
- Mustsuccessfullycompletebackgroundinvestigation.
