Job summary

The Salvation Army in California seeks a Shelter Shift Leader for the ACES Shelter on swing shift. You will supervise shelter monitors, ensure proper intake procedures, meals, lights out, and coordinate daily operations on-site.

Responsibilities include documenting population stats and incident reports, orienting new staff, and maintaining cleanliness across dorms and common areas. Must be at least 21 with relevant experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Education in social services/substance abuse preferred.
• Experience in informal mental health/substance abuse evaluation.
• Must be 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Supervise other shelter monitors on shift.
• Ensure intake/screening, space, meals, lights out and laundry/shower operations.
• Maintain documentation: population statistics, incident reports, staff log.
• Coordinate monitors and orient new monitors on shift.
• Clean and sanitize dorms, bathrooms, kitchens and sleeping areas.
• Other related duties as required.
