Job summary

The City Rescue Mission of Lansing is seeking a Food Service Coordinator to oversee meal service for guests, supervise volunteers, and ensure clean, sanitary kitchen operations across facilities.

This role requires attention to food safety, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a courteous, Christ-centered approach with guests and staff. Shifts include 6am–10am, with offsite kitchen pickups as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma - Required
• ServSafe Certification preferred or eligible within 90 days
• Driver's License - Required
• Microsoft Suite (Office) - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee meal service to facility guests, manage volunteers and guest helpers
• Ensure cafeteria, kitchen, and storage areas are cleaned thoroughly each shift
• Maintain logs of food and refrigerator temperatures for safety and records
• Inventory items each shift, ensure all items are dated and rotated
• Communicate needs and numbers with Food Service staff via email
• Attend all meetings and trainings as scheduled
• Demonstrate Christ-like service, share the gospel, and pray with guests
