Job summary

Samaritan House in California is seeking a Program Aide to support Shelter Services across three sites. Under the general supervision of the Shelter Services Operations Manager, you will coordinate daily shelter operations, assist clients, work with vendors, and help ensure safety and quality services during assigned shifts, including Early Morning, Day, Afternoon, Evening, Swing and Grave shifts.

Qualifications include an AA in Non-Profit Administration or related field, or a GED/high school

Qualifications

• AA in Non-Profit Administration or related field
• Minimum Education is GED or High School Diploma
• 1–2 years of Shelter Experience
• Familiarity with dual-diagnosed individuals; mental health or substance abuse issues
• Knowledge of housing/homeless issues and crisis support
• Experience with Clarity Database or other client-tracking databases

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality client services and shelter operations support.
• Respond to client needs and resolve issues professionally and within boundaries.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of shelter facilities and property.
