Job summary

Interfaith Works seeks a Director of Shelter Services to lead its Emergency Shelter portfolio. This full-time role oversees program quality, guest services, staffing, budgets, and regulatory compliance across multiple shelter sites.

The position requires a Master's in Social Work, 7+ years of homeless services leadership, and supervision of program directors. Reports to the Director of Programs and collaborates with partners to ensure trauma-informed care and mission-aligned service delivery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work required.
• Board-approved supervisor or willingness to obtain board approval.
• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in homeless services.
• At least five years of supervisory or program management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for all Interfaith Works emergency shelter programs.
• Directly supervise shelter Program Directors and establish clear expectations related to program quality, staff performance, fiscal stewardship, compliance, and guest services.
• Monitor program performance, staffing and scheduling, guest services, incident response, facility needs, budget performance, data and outcomes, and continuous quality improvement.
• Maintain regular on-site visibility across shelters, including evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and other nontraditional times as appropriate.
• Identify emerging operational or programmatic concerns and intervene early to prevent risks.
