Job summary

Interfaith Works in Olympia, WA seeks a Director of Homeless Services (Interim) to provide strategic leadership for frontline programs, including Unity Commons shelter and Sergio’s Service Center, guided by Housing First, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care.

This role reports to the Executive Leadership Team and Board, directing finances, HR, program development, fundraising, and external partnerships to advance a just, inclusive community.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in public health, social work, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in high-level program management or nonprofit leadership.
• Personal lived experience may substitute for some requirements.
• Willingness to pass a background check and E-Verify where required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the 58-bed Unity Commons shelter and Sergio’s Service Center.
• Lead executive team duties including budgeting, fundraising, and policy development.
• Coordinate program development and expansion with the Board.
• Ensure compliance with funding requirements and HMIS.
• Represent IW with local government and community partners.
• Maintain positive community relations and staff development.
