Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking an entry-level Monitor to help provide security for shelter premises and safety for clients, visitors and staff. This role involves front-door monitoring, bag and person screening, patrols, and reporting incidents; driving tasks may be required for licensed monitors.

On-site work with a nonprofit mission, offering benefits and opportunities to contribute to the well-being of program participants and staff.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background check required.
• VOALA safety training within 30 days of hire.
• California driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit.
• Screen bags and persons entering shelter.
• Patrol premises and report safety concerns.
• Support shelter operations and client safety as needed.
• Drive participants as directed (licensed monitors).
