Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Monitor to provide security and safety for program premises, clients, visitors and employees. Driving ability is preferred.

Responsibilities include shelter entrance monitoring, screening of bags and persons, patrolling, shelter safety, and documenting incidents. The role supports day-to-day operations and requires adherence to safety protocols and mandated reporting.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• DOJ Live Scan required.
• TB test required.
• Flu Vaccine (or declination form) required.

Responsibilities

• SHELTER ENTRANCE MONITORING: monitor and authorize entrance/exit to guard against theft and ensure safety.
• BAG & PERSON SCREENING: inspect participants' belongings for safety.
• Patrol premises to prevent intrusion and maintain security.
• SHELTER SAFETY: observe for safe operations, report spills or unsafe conditions, assist in emergencies.
• REPORTING: complete written reports and incident logs on daily activities.
