Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Monitor I - HSH to help maintain safety and security at the shelter. The role emphasizes front-desk monitoring, screening of bags and persons, and on-site patrols.

You will work with program clients, staff, and visitors, following mandated reporting and incident logging. Driving duties may be required for licensed monitors, and the job is on-site in a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with difficult or uncooperative clients
• Fingerprint clearance and background check required
• High school diploma or GED must be completed

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit
• Screen bags and individuals for safety and security
• Patrol premises and report risks or incidents
• Ensure shelter safety and assist management as needed
• Transport participants if licensed to drive (Driving tasks)
