Job summary

VOALA in California is seeking a Monitor I - HSH to provide security for program premises and safety for clients, visitors and staff. Driving ability is preferred.

The role involves shelter entrance monitoring, bag and person screening, patrolling, and maintaining shelter safety. You will also support clients, complete written reports, and may be required to drive participants as needed to support program operations.

Qualifications

• Security-focused role requiring vigilance and professionalism.
• Ability to monitor entrances, screen bags and persons, and patrol premises.
• Ability to document daily activities and incidents clearly.

Responsibilities

• SHELTER ENTRANCE MONITORING: control entry/exit and guard against theft.
• BAG & PERSON SCREENING: inspect belongings and persons entering shelter.
• Patrol premises to detect intrusions and ensure doors/windows are secure.
• SHELTER SAFETY: observe for hazards, assist during emergencies, report issues.
• CLIENT/PARTICIPANT SUPPORT: greet visitors, assist staff, and monitor areas.
