Job summary

Homes for the Homeless is seeking a Safety Supervisor for our Williamsbridge Family residence in the Bronx. The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for families and supervising Safety Aides, with opportunities to lead security operations and incident response.

The position requires NYS Security licensing, required fire-safety certifications, and the ability to coordinate with city agencies to ensure compliance and safety across the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Security or law enforcement experience with at least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with NYC Department of Homeless Services and DHS CARES strongly preferred.
• Valid NYS Security License required.
• Current 8-hour and 16-hour certificates required.
• Valid F-02 (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard for Shelters) required.
• Valid F-80 (Fire Safety Coordinator Certificate of Fitness) required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise safety staff and direct routine security tasks on the shift.
• Maintain camera surveillance of interior and exterior areas.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations.
• Investigate incidents or interactions.
• Act as Fire Safety Director and staff the Fire Command Station.
