Job summary

Endeavors is seeking a Shelter Monitor in Austin, TX to oversee resident activities, ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with program rules. Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
2+ years’ experience with low-income/at-risk/homeless individuals or vulnerable populations.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.
Driver’s License with a clear record; daily use of a vehicle.
Must be available and willing to travel to various locations as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, structured environment for clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
Maintain positive relationships with clients and staff.
Document events and incidents in a timely, accurate manner.
Consult with supervisor on duties and resident needs.
Use positive behavioral techniques and assist residents with problem-solving.
Monitor shelter areas for policy compliance and safety.
Respond to residents’ requests and inquiries.
Conduct orientations and assist with intake, bed/locker assignments, and supplies.
Brief and direct volunteers and staff as needed.
Lead inspections and identify improvements.
Ensure safety of residents during crises and coordinate with service providers.
