Job summary

The Salvation Army ALM-Jackson Ms Corps in Jackson, MS 39206 is seeking a House Monitor/Cook to support residents in shelter evenings and weekends. You will cook nutritious meals, monitor resident activity, and maintain accurate records to ensure safety and compliance with house rules.

Responsibilities include intake checks, meal preparation, kitchen sanitation, inventory control, and responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One-year experience cooking food for large groups.
• One-year experience performing security or social service work preferred, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Checks clients into the shelter; prepares intake cards and resident roster, and maintains property records.
• Monitors residents to ensure safety and compliance with house rules; checks doors/windows and monitors security systems.
• Prepares, tallies, and balances monies with receipts; inputs data and maintains computer records for client lists.
