Job summary

The Salvation Army in Laurel, MS is seeking an overnight shelter supervisor to accept and process residents and monitor safety on shift. You will maintain intake cards, rosters, and logs, and distribute basic supplies while ensuring compliance with house rules.

Responsibilities include securing the shelter, monitoring cameras, responding to emergencies, and coordinating with on-site staff to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of security or social service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Accepts and processes residents staying in shelter overnight.
• Monitors residents to ensure safety and compliance with house rules.
• Maintains accurate records and logs.
• Distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items; security of medications as required.
• Responds calmly to emergencies and follows procedures.
