Job summary

Volunteers of America-GNY in New York, NY is seeking a Residential Aide to support families experiencing homelessness. You will greet clients, coordinate non-clinical needs, and ensure safety while upholding client rights.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED preferred with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets agency policy preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally (oral and written) with Spanish-speaking clients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise client participation in daily program activities and monitor rights; manage bed assignments and escort clients as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of service models and coordinate with case management staff.
• Make rounds to safeguard clients and property and provide emergency response including first aid, CPR and fire response as needed.
• Report violations and incidents to supervisor and complete incident reports as outlined by the Program Manual.
• Drive agency vehicles to transport clients, staff and materials when assigned.
