The Salvation Army of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a Shelter Manager for the Midland, TX area. This role oversees volunteers, staff, and residents, manages intake, safety, and HMIS records, and ensures the shelter operates with proper compliance and order.

You will supervise a team, coordinate meals and daily operations, maintain inventories, and collaborate with external agencies to support residents. The position emphasizes security, training, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of security or social services experience in shelter or similar setting with supervisory experience.
• Valid State Driver's License is required.
• Food Handlers Certification needed; Basic First Aid certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and supervises volunteers and staff; assists residents of the shelter.
• Conducts client intake and ensures HMIS records are accurate and up to date.
• Monitors safety, security, and adherence to house rules during assigned shifts.
• Oversees housekeeping, food inventory, budgeting, and vendor coordination as needed.
• Coordinates with external partners and community services to support residents.
• Maintains facility records, completes incidents reports, and ensures compliance with procedures.
