Job summary

The Salvation Army in Midland, TX is seeking a part-time Shelter Assistant to help manage overnight shelter operations. You will assist residents, perform intake procedures, and monitor safety, ensuring compliance with house rules and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities include building security, intake/discharge duties, housekeeping, and coordinating daily chores. Prior experience in a shelter or security role is preferred. Part-time role with benefits available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of security or social services experience in a shelter preferred.
• Equivalent training/experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clients comply with house rules and maintain security of the facility.
• Conduct intake procedures and maintain client intake records and roster.
• Assign daily chores and assist in housekeeping to maintain facility standards.
• Respond calmly to emergencies and follow established policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of incidents and daily operations.
