Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AS/BA in Human Services preferred.
• Two years of shelter/human services experience; lead/supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shelter staff during weekend, holiday, evening, and as-needed shifts.
• Ensure shifts are covered; manage call-outs and staffing concerns.
• Foster housing-first, low-barrier, trauma-informed guest engagement.
• Monitor safety, policies, and incident procedures.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with leadership, law enforcement, EMS, or facilities as appropriate.
• Complete incident reports, shift logs, and guest notes; review for accuracy.
• Conduct regular shelter walk-throughs and report urgent facilities needs.
• Provide coaching and feedback to staff; elevate performance issues to Senior Director.
• Support staff orientation and required training (CPR/Narcan/First Aid).
• Communicate end-of-shift updates to leadership and complete follow-up.
