Job summary

Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency is seeking a Lead Site Assistant to support daily shelter operations at ARCHES shelters in Polk and Marion counties. You will supervise site activities, train volunteers, and ensure residents receive assistance with resources and referrals.

The role requires strong communication, data entry, and the ability to maintain safety in a busy shelter environment. Driving to ARCHES sites is required, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in customer service, social services, or other client-facing roles.
• Preference for applicants with experience working with people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness; or public healthcare/community services exposure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for the shift.
• Train incoming staff and volunteers on duties, processes, and policies.
• Facilitate communication between Site Assistants and volunteers.
• Ensure data collection and quality; input HMIS data.
• Assist residents with questions and resources; maintain safe environment.
• Support cleaning, laundry, and site upkeep; assist nutrition staff as needed.
• Engage with community partners and referrals; promote trauma-informed care.
