Job summary

Agate Housing seeks an Assistant Shelter Program Manager to support Shelter Program Managers across our housing-focused shelter sites. You will supervise staff, coordinate operations, and provide direct guest service to ensure safety, hospitality, cleanliness, and dignity for guests and staff.

Working within a 24/7 rotating schedule, you will help maintain Shelter leadership, coach staff, respond to crises, and uphold Harm Reduction, Housing First, trauma-informed care, and equity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in homeless services or a related field.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including hiring and performance management.
• Strong understanding of Housing First, Harm Reduction, and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance and Safety: ensure shelters are safe, welcoming, clean, and affirming spaces.
• Supervision and Staff Development: recruit, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate shelter staff.
• Program Oversight and Operations: maintain positive daily operations aligned with mission and goals.
