Agate Housing seeks a Shelter Worker to join our team at Minnesota housing sites. You will perform intakes, monitor safety, conduct rounds, and support daily shelter operations with a trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, handling inquiries, meal service, housekeeping, and documentation in HMIS. Flexibility to work second or third shifts and occasional first shifts is required.

• Must be able to communicate respectfully with guests, coworkers, and diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and data entry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer/phone tasks.
• Ability to handle phone and email communications professionally.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Mansioni

• Enforce shelter policy consistently with a positive and respectful demeanor.
• Answer and direct calls, monitor entrances, and ensure guest access to shelter.
• Perform rounds to ensure guest safety and manage behavior during shifts.
• Use de-escalation and crisis response techniques while maintaining boundaries.
• Review security footage and document incidents accurately.
• Collaborate with staff, property management, and facilities teams to support site operations.
• Serve as first point of contact for guests, staff, and visitors, with trauma-informed welcome.
• Assist with meal service, volunteer check-ins, and ensuring routines occur on schedule.
• Maintain daily shelter documentation and guest files in HMIS or other systems.
