Bay Area Turning Point is seeking a Shelter Manager A to oversee daily shelter operations, staff, and volunteers, ensuring service delivery and documentation align with program goals.

The role requires leadership in managing Resident Advocates, childcare staff, and volunteers, with a focus on safety, sanitation, and compliance. A 4-year degree is required, plus experience in administration and supervision. Must be able to work flexible hours and meet regular documentation deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of administrative/program experience.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Human Resources, or comparable experience.
• Must pass criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and references.
• Must have a clean driving record and be insurable with at least three years of driving experience.
• Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shelter operations team and coverage for the facility.
• Oversee safety, cleanliness, and welfare of residents and children.
• Manage childcare program with safety and scheduling responsibilities.
• Provide incident resolution support and staff training as needed.
