Job summary

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is hiring a Kitchen Supervisor to oversee meal preparation, planning, and service for residents at Good Shepherd Center’s Interim Housing sites. You will ensure food safety, trauma-informed practices, and dietary accommodations.

The role collaborates with Case Managers to meet residents' nutrition needs, trains volunteers, and maintains kitchen cleanliness, inventory, and compliance with health standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or food service certification preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in food preparation.
• Valid Food Restaurant Manager Certificate required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Must pass a background check and health requirements per agency policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals for shelter residents.
• Develop weekly menus that are nutritious and accommodate dietary needs.
• Order, receive, and store food and supplies with inventory control.
• Train and supervise kitchen volunteers and interns.
