Job summary

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is seeking a Kitchen Supervisor to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for residents at Good Shepherd Center’s Interim Housing sites.

You will ensure food safety, coordinate with Case Managers, and train volunteers while maintaining trauma-informed, culturally sensitive service delivery. The role requires leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in food preparation.
• Valid Food Restaurant Manager Certificate required (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals for shelter residents.
• Develop weekly nutritionally balanced menus reflecting cultural needs.
• Order, receive, and store food and supplies with inventory control.
• Maintain sanitation per health regulations and agency policies.
• Supervise kitchen volunteers and train on safety and hygiene.
• Support case managers with resident dietary needs.
