Job summary

The Salvation Army in Modesto, CA is seeking a Kitchen Aide to assist in food preparation, serving and cleanup for daily meals for shelter guests. Under the supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor, you will help with storage, inventory, and meal reporting for statistics and billing.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, being 18 or older, and ServSafe certification (or the ability to obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with disadvantaged populations is required/preferred.
• ServSafe certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with storage, preparation, cooking and serving daily meals for shelter clients.
• Prepare and clean kitchen areas daily for service and inspections.
• Coordinate and supervise kitchen volunteers.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff on ordering and inventorying food supplies.
• Other related duties as required.
