Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory in Lodi, California is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation for residents, serve meals, and maintain a clean kitchen at the Lodi Hope Harbor Family Service Center and Lodi Corps Shelter Food Storage Areas. Also assists with catered events.

Responsibilities include following ServSafe standards, assisting with stock, and coordinating warehouse stock with shelter stock. Some driving for catering may be required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Must pass a criminal background check including DOJ Livescan.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CA Food Handler Certification Card required.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain culinary standards and assist with kitchen operations.
• Assist with SYSCO orders and food storage coordination.
• Deep cleaning and upkeep of staff and student areas.
• Adhere to ServSafe rules in kitchen and with staff.
• Assist Chef with prep and kitchen duties and cleanup.
• Ensure stock for kitchen needs and proper labeling/ storage.
• Assist with catering duties and driving the van when necessary.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment and report issues promptly.
